Known as one of Europe’s largest techno gatherings, Kappa Futur has announced the first names for the 2018 edition, taking place on July 7th and 8th.

As always it takes place inside vast industrial hangers at Parco Dora in Turin, Italy. But this year there will be an extra stage with its own VIP area, while the whole site has also been increased in size to accommodate more than 45,000 people.

Musically, you can expect sets from big hitters Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati, Solomun, Derrick May, Ilario Alicante, Luciano and Marco Carola, with more than 30 acts yet to be announced.

Also new for 2018 is a partnership that will allow a more efficient management of public order and acoustic impact called MONICA.

According to the press release, MONICA “involves a consortium of 28 partners from all around Europe among which are Istituto Boella, founded by Compagnia di San Paolo and Politecnico di Torino, Telecom Italia and the Municipality of Torino. The project is co-funded by the European Commission through the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, and aims to provide a very large scale demonstration of multiple existing and new Internet of Things technologies for Smarter Living.”
