Devoted to the art of electronic music, his career is defined by restless creativity, reinventing dance music in his own image or in three... His desire for creation and performance is not satisfied by a single pseudonym, but by two other identities, Mariel Ito and Maetrik Live, each with their own unique style of production and performance. Maceo regularly appears in high-profile performances on the world's most important stages, in places like Amsterdam, Berlin, Ibiza, New York and wherever the planet's dance music elite gathers. Born in Miami to first-generation Cuban immigrants, he grew up in one of the most vibrant cities in America, where everyone has a bit of rhythm in their DNA. As a young man, he naturally approached music, becoming obsessed with IDM, Techno and Breaks while making his way through Miami's legendary party scene. His older brother, a professional dancer, would have exposed a young Plex to the break-beat and electro scene in Miami. This futuristic music and hip-hop style, combined with its Latin roots, would plant the seeds for its ever-evolving sound. Moving to Dallas in the early '90s, he continued to develop his love for electronic music. Consumed by his new passion, he would buy his first production tool, an MPC drum machine, saving his earnings as a dishwasher at a local restaurant. Maceo, known as Eric Entity at the time, began building his global audience during the rave boom in the late '90s. Dallas would be the basis for his professional dance music career, where he performed under his live alias, Maetrik. It wouldn't be until 2010 that Maceo Plex's identity would be born after he and his wife moved to Valencia, Spain, leaving everything they knew behind in search of something more. Maceo Plex stands out from the crowded crowd of DJs and producers thanks to his true love for music and his extraordinary ability to create something new and unique.
