Operating in the darker shades of electronica, the Italian selector is tirelessly dedicated to unearthing music from the past and present. Maintaining a touch of magic in his sets, which range from deep, gritty sounds to euphoric nostalgia, nothing is off-limits. An element of endless surprise, a mind–warping flow and a punk attitude are natural in his practice, solidified by years of dj residency at the infamous Milanese squat Macao.

Years of touring and perseverance have made Jo a prominent figure in the underground scene, where he is widely respected because of his dedication to sound and research above the norm. Having lived in London, Berlin, and now in the indefatigable and thriving Milan, he has had the opportunity to develop a unique aesthetic taste, a special sensibility for that which does not bore. His “voce ipnotica” vocal editing technique, which he has used in many of his techno productions and in his ambient live shows (made with the A.R.X. collective of which he is a member) is part of a broader mindset that focuses on the repetitiveness of sound as a different universe that is always the same. Jo is one of those DJs who can hypnotize the dancefloors he encounters on his path, choosing the right record at the right time, making the booth, the soundsystem and the crowd a single entity.
