ANNA

One of the most fascinating DJs in the business. A musical ambassador and a veteran of acid house, a techno champion, a pioneer of dance music, label owner, King Of Ibiza - you could say that Carl has done all this, without ever losing sight of his passions: playing music, broadcasting tracks and celebrating life. His official entry into the music scene came in 1986, when Carl Cox moved to Brighton and, like others at that time, discovered what he himself calls 'the pure thrill of acid house. ' 'Summer Of Love' is considered his first hit and at the Sunrise Rave in 1988 he played three-cymbal for the first time. At 10:30 on Sunday morning he manages to make a crowd of ravers who were leaving start dancing again. Since that day, the telephone of the 'Wizard of the Three Plants' has never stopped ringing. Since then it has been a succession of appearances at the most prestigious events, so much so that we can say that Carl Cox has made a fundamental contribution to the history of English club culture, because he was always there on important occasions. Any examples? He played at the inauguration of Danny Rampling's legendary Shoom, collaborated with Paul Oakenfold, and was resident at the ZAP Club in Brighton. After the satisfaction as a DJ, here come the successes as a producer. In 1992 with Perfecto he released his first hit 'I Want You', which went directly to 23rd place on the English Top of the Pops chart! The follow-up, 'Does It Feel Good To You' is a success, even if it is seen as a commercial project and Carl Cox's heart is with house and techno and for this reason he does not choose a popstar career but prefers a return to his origins. The album FACT (Future Alliance of Communication and Technology) is techno and has sold about 250,000 copies to date. In the last five years Carl Cox has dedicated himself to a different project: Ultimate Music Management, which organizes clubs and tours, but also deals with finding new talent, such as Josh Abraham's, Trevor Rockcliffe, Earl Gray and DJ Dan. Carl Cox has played in clubs in the most diverse places: from South Africa to Israel, from Tasmania to Asia. He starred in the film dedicated to English clubs 'Human Traffic' and was able to find time to open new record labels: Ultimatum Breaks and Intec for quality techno and house productions. His career is full of important moments: he has contributed decisively to Radio One's Essential Mix, he has released several mixes and albums. He was awarded the IDA 'DJ Of The Year' award for two years, Muzik chose him as Best British DJ and received awards from NME, Dancestar and many other organizations around the world. Lately he is no longer resident at Base to dedicate himself to new projects: he produces records, writes, remixes, presents, appears on TV and is always on tour around the world

Ana Miranda, known as ANNA, is a rare example of a musician and producer completely at ease transforming between two parallel careers in electronic music, representing her two worlds - Techno and Ambient. The prolific DJ and producer born in Brazil and based in Lisbon, moved to Barcelona in 2015 to approach the European dance music circuit - a scene that had become attached to her hypnotic and melodic techno published on a series of vital labels, from Drumcode to Plus 8, from Mute Records to Afterlife. Her 2019 summer hit, 'Forever Ravers', with Miss Kittin on Kompakt, illuminated dance floors around the world and became a pandemic anthem while her powerful and engaging productions continued to evolve and enrich her sound with each new track, often distinctly infused with an ambient essence that served as a primer for her transition to the world of ambient music. Anna is now over twenty years in a celebrated and highly respected career, which has elevated her from the dance floors of Six - the nightclub owned by her father in the rural suburbs of São Paulo, where he began to have his first experiences behind the dishes. ANNA was - and still is - a highly sought after techno superstar - she continues to perform at some of the most prestigious clubs in the world including DC10, Hi, Printworks and Warung, and she performs at iconic festivals ranging from Movement to Tomorrowland, from TimeWarp to Coachella. In recent years, he has been making classic crossover remixes for names like Jon Hopkins, Orbital and, now, his huge remix of 'My Cosmas Is Mine' by Depeche Mode - which the band has enthusiastically welcomed despite not even being a single selected from their 2023 album. He was named Essential New Tune by Pete Tong on his first radio broadcast on BBC Radio 1. Anna has been a DJ since she was 14 years old. “I experimented with all the styles at the beginning. After a while I found my identity and it was techno. I focused on my career 100% of the time. I was practicing for ten hours a day, and I was always researching and planning,” she says. It's this determination — an unrelenting desire to “make better music and be more creative” — that brought her to a neurofeedback center in Germany in October 2017. Here he took the next vital steps in his path of self-realization - opening his mind and forever altering his creative process and his point of view on the world. This would eventually lead to the creation of her debut ambient album 'Intentions' (released with Mercury KX through Decca this year), which sees her abandoning the club-led production for sound healing and ambient sounds. “I left the center totally surrendered to the spirit and my soul. I thought, 'What does life want to pass through me? '” She had long been interested in spirituality and had used meditation as a tool for recentralization for some time. However, it had never been his main focus. Today, she is totally committed to taking the course as well as other forms of spiritual and meditative practice - including Transcendental Meditation, Vipassana (“You are in your process; you don't talk to anyone, and you meditate for 10 hours a day”), and training in shamanic energy healing. After the course in Germany, she began to perceive things differently. Classical music is something she discovered she loves after opening herself up to a more contemplative and loving lifestyle. Even the environment. In fact, Anna's' Intentions' journey began with ANNA experimenting with sounds and frequencies to use as a tool in her meditations and contemplative moments. Using pianos and flutes; and sound healing techniques, he listened to these works - these soundscapes for self-realization - while exploring the world. The outside world, of course (both the tours and nature itself remain fruitful sources of inspiration) but also the interior. This debut album includes a collaboration with Grammy-winning artist Jon Hopkins; long-time ambient guru Laraaji and contemporary ambient artist East Forest. Their acceptance of Anna's ambient project is the result of the power of music. It's her understanding of how the worlds of Techno and Ambient can live side by side that makes everything so natural. “I am everything. They are the stillness, the chaos, the light. I am bringing these worlds together. I'm bringing this more open and spiritual side to my techno side, so that everything becomes one.” In this way, ANNA found a way to channel her emotional empathy and crowd reading skills into her current output through her two musical careers. Anna's very name is a palindrome and her career is now the same: two worlds, a real artist.
